Spool holder generator
A wall-mounted arm with a tapered hub, sized to the hole in the spools you own. Add a gusset for strength and a flange so the spool can’t walk off the end.

Settings that work for this part
Functional, not pretty
0.2 mm layers, 4 perimeters, 25 % gyroid infill. Walls carry the load in a printed part far more than infill does, so add walls before you add infill.
Holes print undersized
Every hole is modelled at the size you set. Turn on hole horizontal expansion of +0.1 to +0.2 mm in your slicer, or drill them out.
Material
PLA is fine indoors. Anything in a hot car, near a heated bed or outdoors wants PETG or ASA. See the filament database.

What bore should I set?
Measure the hole in your spool with calipers. Many 1 kg spools are between 52 and 57 mm, but brands and cardboard spools vary.
Will it hold a full spool?
Keep the gusset on, print in PETG with 4 or more walls, and screw it into a stud or proper wall anchors.
How do I print it?
Plate-down on the bed. It needs no supports.
What does bore clearance do?
It leaves a gap between the hub and the spool on each side so the spool turns freely. 0.5 to 1 mm works for most spools.
